• Image of "They Used To Be Amish Girls"

Original gouache and acrylic painting on oversized watercolor paper. This series of paintings was inspired by woven textiles of the ancient Wari culture. I live near a large Amish community and it struck me that the Amish culture was every bit as mysterious to me as the ancient Wari. My Mother owned a store out in Amish country and would always bring home stories about various parts of Amish life. I loved listening to the stories and used them to weave a narrative into this highly stylized way of working. This piece will be rolled and shipped in a tube. 42"x36" LOCAL PEEPS - Please enter the code LOCALPICKUP for free local pick up at my Dover, Ohio studio
