About Sarah

I have a BFA specializing in Surface Design from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. Upon graduation I moved to NYC and was hired as a full time textile designer for Nicole Miller designing conversational prints and wovens for scarves and ties. Then I went to Victoria's Secret where I worked in the Print Department developing prints for silk, poly, and cotton and the Color and Concept Department working on trend and color. My next move was a big one, to San Francisco where I worked for Pottery Barn in the Textile Department designing bed and bath textiles as well as illustrating conceptual ideas.

About three years ago I decided to leave the corporate design world and start painting. I was lucky enough to work in a studio in Fairfax, CA called the Salami Factory among a fantastic group of artists. Now I'm working in my own studio and loving being a fine artist. My recent paintings combine textile design elements with narrative stories and people from my life. I find inspiration in 1950's and 60's design of just about anything as well as the wackiness of my Midwestern family.
